Eamcet 2012 Certificates verification

Today (27-08-2012) I went to Jawaharlal Nehru polytechnic college, Hyderabad for EAMCET certification verification. I am writing my experience on how it went. Probably someone will be benefitted from it.

Note:
1) The certificate verification happening now is only for Engineering and not for medical and Pharmacy. Refer to EAMCET official website http://apeamcet.nic.in/
2) This is certificate verification ONLY and not EAMCET 2012 counseling.

Certificates to bring for verification:
1) EAMCET rank card (will accept printout you took from the internet)
2) EAMCET hall ticket (will accept printout you took from the internet)
3) SSC memo
4) Intermediate memo
5) Study certificates/bonafide certificates from 6th class to 12th class (intermediate)
6) Caste Certificate (if applicable)
7) Transfer certificate
8) Income certificate
9) minority certificate

** I was asked to arrange my certificates in the same order as above.

Cost for verification:
300/- rs for SC/ST candidates and 600/- rs for everyone else.

Procedure:
> You have to report at the venue by 9 AM
> At the venue, there will be a notice mentioning the rank range and timing. example 12001 to 12200 @ 9 am. 12201 to 12400 @ 10 AM.
> You will have to wait for your rank range to be called in.
> You will be asked to write your SSC hall ticket number, SSC passed year, mobile number (the number that you frequently use) on your rank card  - better to check at the venue before you write this.
> Once your rank is called, you will get into the hall with your parents, however, parents move to the waiting hall while the student has to go to the verification officer (make sure you keep 600 rs with you).
Once you get to the entrance, your rank card is verified and you will be let in.
> If you have reservation and are supposed to pay 300/- only for this verification, you should first go to the caste verification officer and present your caste certificates, once verified, you will have to pay 300/-, remaining people should go to verification officer and enter in a register your name, rank, hall ticket number, amount paid and signature. You will have to pay 600/- rs and hand over the rank card to him.
> You will then be sent to another room before which you should collect forms that need to be filled by you.
> You will move into a waiting hall where you can fill the form. You will be with your parent now.
> This is a general form and is easy to fill. Caste reservation candidates have some additional forms. These forms are not required for OC and others. You can also neglect manual option form if you are preferring to use internet for entering preferred college list.
> You now have to wait for your name to be called. You will also get the receipt for 600 rs now. Make sure all details are correct and there are no spelling mistakes on the checklist.
> Collect your rank card stapled with checklist, receipt.
> You will be sent to a certificate verification room now.
> A person there will verify your certificates and fill the checklist. You need to sign in the register.
> They will take all your certificates, rank card and the forms you filled.
> You will now move to the briefing room and wait for them to call.
> Once your name is called, you will have to go and collect scratch card and scanned copy of checklist.
> you are done now. You now have to go home and wait for the date when you should update college preference list online. The date and procedure for online counseling is informed to you during the briefing session in the demo room.

Things to note:
1) It is going to take a lot of time. Be prepared. Get some food, drinks or energy bars. Get water. Let your parents know too.
2) Get an umbrella, don't expect a shed or a tent always at the center
3) Coming early is always good. You get more information and a chair to sit, however, if your situation doesn't permit, don't panic. Today they allowed late comers also. But again, it is dependent on your luck.
4) photocopies/xerox copies are not required, however, get couple of copies handy
5) Parents can come only for moral support. It is not mandatory at all. So don't force your parents to be there.

Email me if you have any questions. Please keep checking my blog as I am going to update the following soon
1) How to attend online counseling
2) How to choose an engineering course

***** THIS IS BASED ON MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE TODAY. IF THE CENTER CHANGES THE RULES, I AM NOT LIABLE. THIS IS JUST AN FYI SO PEOPLE DONT FREAK OUT AT THE VERIFICATION CENTER.
